Random convo with Kristi:
Kristi - "Mom! 36+46=82!"
Mom - "Yes! Hey - 27+34=61!"
Kristi - "Yep." then she walks away as if we just had the most insightful discussion. Funny girl.
posted here with the original post date so I have it handy for the book that will eventually have to come of this. :-)

How’s Canada?
My special Kristi was just talking to me about Japan - the earthquake and tsunami, and how the people are doing now. We had a serious conversation about how terrible that was, and that people are still trying to recover. Then, in a perky and curious tone she asked, "How's Canada doing?" I'm so glad she makes me laugh!

Who are you?
Gotta love life in a big family. I looked right at Nathan and said, "What's your name?" He said, "Kris...Nathan." Even the kids don't know their names! I don't feel so bad for calling them by the wrong one now.

Peanut Butter–the cure-all
I love how my children think. Nathan just told me that he wishes that when Caleb's heart is broken because he misses Fancy Rose Scrivner he could just eat some peanut butter and it would glue his heart back together.
It sticks broken bread back together - why wouldn't it work on a broken heart?

More power to ya
Overheard in Scrivnerburg:
"You're going to replace that outlet and you haven't turned the power off?"
"No. Should I?"
To be fair, he was kidding - he knew he needed the power off...but still...it causes one's heart to leap into one's throat.

Serious mad
Irritated Mommy - "Caleb, why don't you go watch some TV for a few minutes."
Caleb - "I think you have your serious mad eyes on."

They just can’t get along
"As we've been teaching Caleb which foot each shoe goes on, we always tell him his toes need to "talk to each other." This morning he told me he didn't want to switch his shoes to the right feet because his toes "don't really like each other anyway.”
